Fundraisers
This year the Okotoks Skating Club is hosting a Casino Fundraiser!

Why Casinos?

Many people do not know that revenue the Okotoks Skating Club receives from volunteering at a Casino in Alberta is the most profitable fundraiser for ours and many other not-for-profit clubs and charities.

In Alberta, charities and not-for profits receive all the proceeds from table games, only being required to pay operators a fixed fee-for-service to cover operating expenses. Proceeds from slot and VLT machines is divided approximately 15% to charity, 15% to the casino operator, and 70% to the Alberta Lottery Fund, which supports charitable organizations across Alberta through grants and foundations.

Those members who volunteer are helping keep our club costs down! And there is no need to have any experience with gambling or Casinos; all volunteer casino positions receive training and assistance from the Cash Cage/Count Room Advisor and Casino staff. Police checks will be conducted for some volunteer positions.

Next Casino Dates for the Okotoks Skating Club:

Friday, October 17th and Saturday September 18th 2008

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at registrar.osc@gmail.com
